The sgp prize is an international award given to cities that have demonstrated foresight and good governance in solving urban challenges, resulting in a more vibrant and sustainable urban life. The prize also recognises the many efforts of key leaders and organisations that are dedicated to the pursuit of a more liveable city, for all its citizens. The prize is co-organised by the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore and the Centre for Liveable Cities.
The prize recognises a city’s ability to provide a platform for innovation, and for its residents to develop a common purpose and identity in the face of urban challenges. The sgp prize also seeks to highlight the many efforts of key leaders and organisations that have dedicated themselves to the pursuit of a more liveable Singapore, for all its citizens. The prize is an important catalyst for enhancing the quality of life and making cities more livable, as well as a global hub of knowledge on urban issues and solutions.
In a bid to improve the nation’s literacy level, the NUS Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (ISEAS) has partnered with sgp prize 2022 to launch an oral history project called Eyes on the Prize. The project features interviews with more than a dozen people who were involved in the original series and its successors. They recalled their personal experiences, memories and insights as they worked on the show.
Kishore Mahbubani, senior adviser (university and global relations) at NUS and chair of the current prize jury, said that this new initiative will be helpful in building a stronger sense of national identity among Singaporeans. “The idea is to create a record of the stories and voices that have shaped our nation and to make them accessible to everyone, not just for academics but for the wider public,” he explained.
He added that he hopes to expand the type of works that can qualify for the prize in future, and include movies, comic books and other forms of storytelling. The reason behind this is that history may sometimes be told more effectively through these formats than in written form. For example, the film 12 Years a Slave tells the story of slaves in America through an imagined community, as opposed to actual historical documents that recount events as they unfolded.
Same-game parlays are a great way to increase the payout of your bets by combining multiple single bets on the same event. These bets are often referred to as legs and can include bets on the number of hits by Austin Riley, the total number of strikeouts by Chris Sale, or any other stats from the same game.
Winning a same-game parlay will require some luck, as each leg has to be right. But if you are willing to take the risk, it can be a very profitable betting strategy. Just be sure to limit the amount of money that you are willing to bet on each leg, and always play responsibly.
